Behind Verso is the designer Mikko Halonen from Finland. Verso was the winning piece in a competition together with a local publishing company with the brief to find a modern design for a series of classic books that was released in pocket format.

This beautiful and minimalistic shelf is an extremely versatile product, which can be used for several purposes. In addition to a place for your books and magazines, you can use it for clothes, accessories or whatever comes into mind.

Because of the clever mechanism it ships small and can be easily assembled in just seconds.The choices are white, black and natural wood. The Verso shelf also comes in a width of 56 cm. The product is manufactured in Sweden.

The verso magazine stand

The shelf comes with one magazine stand, which can be attached at any of the ladders of the shelf, at the height you prefer. In addition to magazines you can naturally use the stand for picture frames or other small accessories you wish to showcase. You can buy additional magazine stands as a separate item if you like.

Mikko Halonen received a Master's degree in Furniture and Spatial design from Helsinki University of Art and Design. He has designed furniture for several prominent companies in Finland. Halonen has been recognized for his work by receiving several prizes. He was for example a finalist in the well respected IDFA wooden design furniture competition in Ashahkawa, Japan.

Ecological factors of the design process are very important for Halonen. Issues like material use and production techniques have also been key when designing the Verso shelf.

Info about materials and colors

The visible grain structure gives the shelf a beautiful wooden feel. The shelf is available in black, white and natural wood. The finish is lacquered ash.
